In summary, we actually won the contest but due to some hiccups with facebook message requests, we missed out on the notifications.
We have some good news thereafter!
SPG is still going to give us the 2 nights hotel stay at the 5 star Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers. The bonus which thrills us is we are given not just the usual deluxe room. Instead, we will be staying at a Club Executive Riverview Suite, which comes with lounge access and American Breakfast for 2.
WooHoo~ Here's a snapshot of the voucher we received.
The validity period is a comfortable period of 6 months which allows reaction time for planning and taking of leave. But since we are already having an upcoming Bangkok trip, this is just so timely!
The suite is 70m² and holds a panoramic view of the Chao Phraya river with floor to ceiling windows. A club room will also means we have access to the Sheraton Club Lounge at 27th floor. Definitely something I would be keen to check out!
Out of curiosity, we decided to do a quick check on SPG website on the value of this prize. Wow, the 2 nights stay in this suite is worth SGD$710! This value is based on SPG member rate for 2 nights weekend stay at the hotel. *COOL*
Afterthoughts:
During our previous stays in Bangkok, we had always stayed at hotels near Platinum mall or Siam Paragon. So, staying near the Chao Phraya River is definitely going to be a first time. I'm definitely looking forward to the hospitality which we would be receiving from Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, especially since they were so genuine in attending to our anguish of missing out on the prize.
Keep a lookout for our space while we share our experiences with the hotel after our stay.
